Ericom Connect Proof of Concept Requirements

Please read the below requirements necessary to conduct a successful Proof of Concept of Ericom Connect.

Connect Server(s)
  • Windows 2019 / 2016 / 2012 R2
  • 4 Core / 12 Gb RAM minimum
  • Member of Active Directory
  • Static IP address
  • .NET 4.6 or higher
  • SQL Server
    • The POC installer will install SQL Server Express on this machine.
    • Make sure you add the .NET 3.5 role (for SQL Server support)
    • NOTE: If you already have SQL server installed on your network, Ericom Connect can use it. Make sure you have administrative rights to the SQL server and make sure it's accessible via the network and has TCP/IP and the SQL Browser Service enabled.
  • Do NOT add the following roles to the server: IIS, MS Connection Broker, MS Web Gateway.
  • Ports: See the online documentation for the full list of ports to open.
 Host (Desktops)
  • Windows 7, 8, 10, 11
  • RDP active
  • Port 8080 open
Host (Terminal Servers - RDSH)
  • Windows 2019 / 2016 / 2012 R2
  • RDSH role installed
  • Do NOT add the following roles to the server: IIS, MS Connection Broker, MS Web Gateway.
  • Port 8080 open
  • .NET 4.6 or higher
  • Relevant applications installed that will be published to end users.
  • NOTE: If you will be using 2008 as the RDS Host OS, please enable .NET4.5
 Ericom Secure Gateway (optional component)
  • If you will be testing access from outside your local network, Ericom Secure Gateway is designed to allow external users secure access to corporate resources.
  • Windows 2019 / 2016 / 2012 R2
  • Does NOT have to be domain member
  • Ususally located in DMZ
  • Port 443 open externally
  • Requires external DNS and proper SSL certificate
  • Ports: See the online documentation for the full list of ports to open between the ESG and the Connect server.
